What we do
on a Friday night
We play in the local Nottinghamshire league against other like minded clubs where we have enjoyed much success over the years. We like to think of ourselves as the team to beat in all age groups. Whilst competitive, the local league is a very friendly competition and an ideal introduction to competitive sport.
We are a junior badminton club so fairly obviously we play badminton! We meet at the Oak Tree Leisure Centre on Friday night from 19:00 to 22:00. Our younger players (under 13 and below) are encouraged to attend between 19:00 and 20:30 and our older players attend between 20:30 and 22:00.
We take our coaching activities seriously with our club acting as a major feeder to the Nottinghamshire County squad.
One of the best things about our club is the coaching that the members receive. Everyone can fit in and learn to play the game and all you really need is the desire to want to learn to play badminton. Over the years our coaching team have coached players who went on to play for England and those players sometimes come back to the club for a visit…

Our team of volunteers are what makes everything possible. Some have been around for many years and others are more recent additions but all are dedicated to making the club a success by playing their part.

It’s a great way to unwind after a tough week at school and ease yourself into the weekend. We take the badminton seriously but the social aspect of the club is also a very important part of the club nights.
